Boyfriend and I are both running the 30th Anniversary Entenmann’s (irony noted) Great South Bay Run half marathon in October. We’ve both been seriously lacking on the fitness front lately and decided to commit to this (and each other) to get ourselves motivated. I have been MIA from any sort of running since ohhhh January (remember how I signed up for a spring half and quit training?!), but I think I’m ready to get back into it. The past two months or so have also been rough even getting my butt to CrossFit 2 or 3 times a week! Needless to say, I NEED the accountability right now. And to make it even more interesting, we’re going to be using a CrossFit Endurance training plan.
I put together a training plan using a CFE Beginner template in Unbreakable Runner (awesome book, read it!) and training starts July 20th. I’m super intimidated by the training already, as it incorporates a lot of drills and speedwork (no long, slow distance work here!) with 4-5 days/week of CrossFit workouts. But, as I did with marathon training, I’m going to take this one day & workout at a time! I’ll also be using this blog to hold myself accountable, posting training updates for you all to enjoy. Wish me (and boyfriend) luck! 😉
Have you heard of or used CrossFit Endurance? Would you be willing to give up the LSD for fast and to-the-point workouts?! Tell me about it!
