CFE Training Week 9

Good morning, friends.  I’m coming to you this morning from Kripalu, a beautiful yoga center in The Berkshires that I read about on www.yogaburnreviews.com, where I’m attending a conference called “Food As Medicine”.  I’m learning a ton of interesting stuff (I’ll recap later in the week) but making sure to do some hiking, running and of course, yoga!  For now, here’s what my week 9 of training looked like:

Monday 9/14: At-home WOD. My phone timer stopped about halfway through this workout for some unknown reason and I didn’t stop to set it again, but I’m estimating this took around 14-15 minutes.

Tuesday 9/15:

AM—> 6 x 400m repeats with 2:30 rest between {1:52, 1:50, 1:49, 1:49, 1:49, 1:48}

PM—> Drop-in at CrossFit Smithtown, worked on snatching and then did 4 rounds of 10 push press, 30 double unders and 15 wall balls.  

Wednesday 9/16: 50 minute “Heavenly Hip Openers” Yoga

Thursday 9/17: Rest

Friday 9/18: 4 x 1000m with 600m recovery jog between, ranging from 5:08-5:15 for the repeats.  I also took a 1.5 hour yoga class upon arriving at Kripalu.  Perfect way to kick off the weekend!

Saturday 9/19: Gentle yoga class

Sunday 9/20: 7.5 miles (11:07 average pace) through the hills around Kripalu. Oof am I feeling those hills today!  I also took a 1.5 hour yoga class in the afternoon which was a little intense but felt good on my tight legs!

Alright folks, time to unplug again and get back to learning about mindfulness and mind-body medicine.  We have less than 2 weeks left until race day, and I’m excited to see what these last few workouts entail.  Today is yoga, for sure. Namaste!
