Happy New Year! If you follow me on Instagram, you may have already seen some of my enthusiasm for the upcoming year. I spent some time in a nearby nature preserve on Friday, which was the perfect way to end the year. I reflected on 2016 and formulated some of my intentions for 2017.
Last year, I shared my intentions in a “more and less” format, which was just what I needed at that time. Setting “SMART” goals last year simply felt suffocating, so I decided to back up a bit and give myself some space to focus on more and less. The goal was to choose more of the things I wanted–gratitude, adventures and time spent in nature, to name a few, and less of the things I didn’t–fear, guilt, comparison, etc.
That strategy seemed to pay off for me, as I gained some true clarity and identified priorities in my life. Not only was 2016 good to me on a personal level, but it was great professionally. Last year, I finally took the leap to establish my nutrition coaching business. Side note: If you happen to be interested in coaching and are reading this in real time, I’m offering 20% off initial sessions until 1/7/17! This little blog has grown in 2016 as well and I want to say a big THANK YOU to all of you who read and support me in this space. You can find all of my “Best of 2016” posts here and let me know what you’d like to see more of in the upcoming year!
This year, I’m ready to dial things in a little bit more. After a ton of brainstorming, I finally landed on my theme word for 2017. Words like “thrive”, “fearless” and “connect” were up there, but ultimately I want to focus on growth this year.
My boss gave me this amazing Volt Planner for Christmas and I went right to work writing down my theme and outlining goals for growing my business, my relationships and my personal/spiritual mindfulness practices.
I’m choosing to not detail my goals here, but I promise they are SMART and very exciting. And did you know that just writing down your goals increases the likelihood of actually achieving them? Crazy, but true…so if you’re in need of a new yearly planner that can also hold your big goals–go get this one! Yearly, monthly and weekly layouts help to break down your big goals into smaller manageable chunks and there is extra space for journaling, inspirational quotes and more.
My volt planner is now carrying some big and exciting goals that this girl is ready to make happen. I hope you’ll stick around and see how 2017 unfolds here on the blog and with my business site, www.KimHobanRD.com. Wishing you all a very healthy and happy new year!
Are you a resolution person? Goal setter? Do you have a theme word? I’d love to hear what you’re reaching for in 2017!
