Hi there!  Thanks for stopping by and taking some time to learn more about me and my blog.  If health and wellness is your thing (or you want it to be), you’re in the right place!  This blog is all about the 3 F’s: food, fitness and fun!  It is a space to share recipes, talk nutrition, review wellness-related products and chat about running and CrossFit

I’m Kim, the brains and brawn behind KH Nutrition!  Originally from the Hudson Valley area of New York (home of the Culinary Institute of America for all you foodies out there!), I now live on Long Island with my boyfriend and English bulldog, Rocky.  When I’m not making a mess in my kitchen or reading up on the latest nutrition trends, I can be found running, lifting weights, exploring the great outdoors or seeking out the best homemade ice cream with the boyfriend.  I’m an “anti-diet” dietitian, plant-powered eater and I firmly believe that food is medicine.   

Background and Philosophy:

I’m a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist who believes in plant-based, intuitive eating and promotes whole REAL foods over the “diet of the day”.  Nutrition is a complex science and I take a very individualized and realistic approach to wellness that still allows for indulgent foods and FUN!  I understand that what works for your best friend, sister-in-law, co-worker or neighbor might not be best for you.  I believe that eating should not be about depriving ourselves of foods, but rather nourishing our bodies with the nutrients we need to live a happy and healthy life.  

Food is just one piece of the puzzle for achieving overall wellness, along with self-care, adequate sleep, nourishing relationships and lots of sweat.  Running and CrossFit are my personal fitness faves, but I also enjoy spinning, yoga and hiking.  I’ve completed one full marathon and six half marathons, plus numerous shorter races.  My passion for this active lifestyle led me to become a NASM Certified Personal Trainer in 2015.     

I currently work in corporate wellness for a dining services company, with big dreams of establishing a nutrition counseling practice in the near future.  I am a brand ambassador for Nuttzo and also partner with FitFluential and SweatPink.
